We decided to go for Chinese food after going to a movie. Unfortunately dim sum was over, so we ordered off of the menu. We went by old standbys since this was our first time there. We had fried rice and sweet and sour pork…(very Caucasian). It was very good. Next time we will have to go earlier to try the dim sum.
Top level, unique dishes, and impressive facilities, it’s hard to deny the lengths this restaurant goes to provide a high end cuisine experience. The knock, the one item that often knocks down high end Chinese restaurants, was the service. The hostess was friendly and welcoming…but our waiter was impatient, almost impertinent, as my elderly mom decided on our order. Our family had a nice meal celebrating my birthday, spending for some very tasty dishes we would not typically order. However, the service left a hollow feeling to the experience despite the good food. As there are so many great options for fine dining in Vancouver, we are not particularly drawn to return.
Walked by Neptune Seafood Restaurant and noticed their 15% off Dim Sum until 3:30pm. I’m in. Neptune Seafood occupies the former Ban Dao Pearl Restaurant space. Service here is very high end, however the prices are very affordable. I was seated by one of the…hosts at a table near the back of the dining room. I opted for six items off the Dim Sum menu. Food came in about 10 minutes even though the dining room was very busy. The Dim Sum here is very high end although I found the prices to be very reasonable. The service here is outstanding, with the hosts coordinating the action with radio hand sets. I was highly impressed with the service and food. Neptune Seafood is wheelchair accessible and there is parking on level P2. I would highly recommend Neptune Seafood for lunch or dinner.
The restaurant re-open last week ,it is located on the second floor of the Marine Gateway Pizza , free parking on the P2 , next to the Marine Drive Sky train station , the decor is very impressive and upscale with high ceiling ,very big…place , my business partner and client choose this restaurant ,they think I will like it , it is my first time here , I was impressive with their Safety Plan for Covid — 19 , and well train staff , and the restaurant almost full , I was a little disappointing to see the Dim Sum is very BASIC ! not Luxury ,does not match the ambiance and environment of the restaurant ,,some items is hit and miss ,and lacking in flavour , truffle mushroom is over rated , ,the beef triple had very interesting taste ! too much MSG ,but if you order $50 or more , ,you can order a whole deep fried chicken for $10 , and they gave you a gloves ,and scissors , to do it your self , little mess , ( i do not think it is very good idea have it in business lunch , the staff would not cut it up ! they told us they not allowed ! ) but over all it is very good lunch , pretty average Dim Sum , good service ,if you in the neighbourhood , drop in and try it out , not a bad place !More
I feel safe coming here. They utilize a standing temperature machine to make sure no elevated reading before letting you in. The tables are the most spaced out I have seen anywhere so far and everyone is fully masked of course. Six of us enjoyed…a lovely meal, the food was excellent. Tofu hotpot, roast pig, lobster in rice, and snow pea shoot with squash. The kind hosts ordered too much food as they wanted the variety but happy to take the remaining home. The service was very good too.
Excellent dim sum experience during covid. We booked a private room. The servers brought all our food to the table under cloches. The quality of the food very delicious. From the deep fried taro and pork dumplings to the duck and noodle soup and shrimp…wontons. The sweets even more delicious – egg tarts light and creamy, durian fried balls crispy on the outside and filled with mousse, bbq pork pineapple buns sweet and savoury.
Went because of glowing reviews. Food came out very slowly, 45 minutes for the first course., except that it wasn’t the first course. The second and third dishes came and went long before the first course appeared. A server told us in confidence that the…kitchen had totally forgotten our order. As a former server/restaurant manager I had already guessed this. In their haste the first course was slightly overcooked. The other dishes were good but the veggies with cashew was luke warm. No apology or explanation. Also beware that the prices are on the high side. We were charged $40 per pound for lobster. Most other places are around $28. Service was average for a Chinese Restaurant. All places have problems occasionally especially if busy, but this was a slow night. it might be a while before we come back.
We went for dinner with my family, the food are creative and good taste, we like the cook well use of their knives one thing we need to mention is our waiter Michael ( I believe he is one of the head waiter)give us wonderful…service and we have a memorable night, we shall go again because of Michael and the foodsMore
I went here with my family in the morning earlier today. It was my first visit today and the decor was clean and luxurious. We ordered following items : Lean Pork Century Egg Congee ($12.95), Truffle Shao Mai ($9.38), Crispy Wild Rice Wrap ($9.68), Spicy…Rice Rolls with Chinese Donut ($8.98) and Beef Tripe in Satay Sauce ($8.68). Food presentation was wonderful it was nicely decorated. Congee came in a stone bowl with a Chinese donut on top. It was yummy. I could feel the tenderness of the meat while chewing pork inside the congee. Spicy Rice Rolls were yummy. Pork floss had a slight spicy flavour and the donut inside was soft. Everything else were also tasty. Truffle Shao Mai looked cute with truffle on top. The fillings were tender and meaty. Beef tripe and Wild Rice Wrap were pretty good. Rice wrap was really yummy and crispy. They were all made with quality and the price was expensive. Washroom was beautiful. All the toilets had an automatic seat cover using censor or the touch button. They had Jo Malone diffusers in the washroom instead of using air fresheners. You’re looking to spend $8-9 per dish and $12-16 on special dishes. Noodles would be around $20 and up. It’s quite expensive, but great place to spoil yourself, friends or family once in awhile. Service was average. Food quality was pretty good. **Complimentary parking is available for 90 minutes at P2. No password needed for wifi**More
