Good choice of beers (although couple of beers on the menu no longer available) and service was okay – place is eclectic with great music playing but was really quiet on a Saturday afternoon – think it would have been better on a weekend evening…when they had advertised live musicMore
My friend and I went to this restaurant during a weeknight in Sep 2018. We went as we were staying at the Ramada Hotel that’s attached to the pub, and got 25% off because of this. The place wasn’t busy and we were seated quickly….CLEANLINESS AND LAYOUT: The restaurant is quite big and has a lot of areas (regular tables, stools by the bar, small and big tables, couches, etc.). The restaurant was clean; I didn’t use the bathrooms so I can’t comment on the cleanliness of those. The restaurant was downtown and close to other stores and restaurants. Parking, like the rest of downtown Vancouver was limited and you have to pay. FOOD AND PRICE: I had a chicken burger with fries and a beer. My friend had a rum and coke and regular burger with fries. The food came pretty quickly, which was good, and the burgers were tasty. My bill, with the discount came to $18 CDN, so not bad at all. Prices for all their food looked reasonable. The menu was typical of a pub menu (nachos, burgers, fish and chips, etc.). SERVICE: Our waitress was pleasant and came to our table enough to make sure we were good with everything. OVERALL: The meal and prices were both good, and it was nice to be staying at the hotel right next door. Overall, I’d recommend this place.
We rolled up at the Morrissey after a long flight from Aus! It was a nice and quiet, comfy atmosphere. Staff were very welcoming and polite. Pub style food at pretty decent prices.
When I walked into this place I thought I had strayed into the Adams Family home by mistake! I get shabby chic but this was taking it to extremes with the invasion of chandeliers and deliberately tatty wallpaper. Perhaps I’m getting too old. Anyway the…food was good and very reasonable with a 25% discount for staying in the adjacent Ramada so all good.
Served by an amazing server (Tania) – overheard other customers say she looks like Jennifer Anniston but no comparison since she is much prettier & MUCH better server! Fantastic grilled cheese, happy hour drink specials & snacks. Decor is rustic but fun. I could see…this place lively on evenings & weekends! Will definitely be back when in Vancouver!More
The food is pretty good, and the drinks are great. I particularly love the Molotov Margarita — it’s so spicy and delicious! The only downside when we were there was that the music playlist was playing rockblocks all night — two Bush songs in a…row, then they played the same Matchbox 20 song twice, but thankfully the server took care of it and changed the song, haha! Great vibe and service.
Food was fine though not very original. Bar staff really nice chap, and helpful. Quiz Night boring to most.
I travel to Vancouver often for work. As I work nearby and like going out for a pint, I’ve come to discover the Morrissey. It’s old, rustic and quirky and I like it. The on-tap selection isn’t expansive but they usually have two hoppy IPAs…to choose from and a good selection of scotch, which makes me happy. The food is good pub-fare, the staff are friendly and the classic-rock music is played at a decibel level that allows for good table conversations without the need to lean in or raise your voice. Love it…
