I really enjoyed our visit to the new location – what a fabulous atmosphere! We were having a nice family reunion dinner and the server even provided a complimentary prosecco! This was our favourite place when it was previously on John St and now its…even better.

My husband and I had dinner there this week and we were very very impressed! The staff were very friendly and attentive from the moment we entered. The service was very professional and we never felt rushed at all. The dinner was excellent and extremely…delicious! Portions were just the right size so we left feeling very satisfied. So great to be back inside to enjoy another amazing culinary experience. Very cool space, with an exceptional serving team and very talented and creative chefs, led by award winning chef Matt Kershaw. There are so many delicious menu choices, that it’s always difficult to…make a decision. The ‘standard’ has to be the chicken liver brulee, which is truly addictive, served with bread. And then there are the oysters rockefeller. Mmm…For mains, we enjoyed the duck schnitzel, which was so light, served with potato ‘hash’, lemon garlic greens. My partner loved his lamb tartifllete, which was a tasty confit lamb shoulder served with potato gratin and cheese. Great cocktails and updated wine list. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back on a regular basis. Huge patio available in better weather. Excellent location for private functions as well, since the back section of the restaurant can be closed off.

Holy crap. All I can say is WOW. My husband and I lived in Hamilton for ages now and have ordered from several of the “best” restaurants in Hamilton never being fully satisfied because even the ‘good’ ones never quite nail it.. too salty or…too many fried options on the menu etc. But rapscallion has NAILED IT. A chef who knows what he’s doing. We ordered the salmon crudo, steak poivre, lobster mac and cheese, whipped feta, and eggplant and this is possibly some of the best food I’ve ever had (I don’t take saying that lightly) – it’s up there with manhattan level restaurants. The steak is actually excellent quality and all the Asian fusion flavours were on point. I wish the portions were slightly larger but only because it’s so delicious I want the flavours to linger and be experienced longer. I don’t even write reviews but I was left with so many feelings after this order I just had to!!!! Also know that reviews are the lifeblood of local businesses and want to make sure people know how great you are. We will be ordering here regularly. Also please consider getting on ubereats or offering a delivery service – patrons of the Hamilton food scene will appreciate it. And please never compromise on this quality! You guys deserve every bit of success you get. Next time can’t wait to try the dumplings, steak tartare and gnocchi. Side bar – when I picked up I was struck but how warm and welcoming everyone was (the host at the front was lovely) and even staff who weren’t serving me started talking to me.
