Naan and Chai is an inherently paired and widely accepted food inspired by the wisdom of basic living. It is a pairing that is both satisfying and fulfilling! It goes without saying that the communal nature of freshly prepared naan has lasted for centuries. It’s one of those scents that bring back vivid memories of Pakistan, especially those of comfort, family, and friends. Naan was always cooked from the purest and freshest ingredients (immediately smeared with butter) and was a mainstay in our home. It was frequently served with flavorful curries, charcoal BBQ, and of course, Karak Chai. We add classic, and fusion tastes to our savoury Naan, such as tandoori chicken, overnight delectable smoked brisket naan, and apple crumble from your grandmother.
The fusion Pakistani restaurant Naan and Chai in Toronto offers loaded naan and a wide variety of drinks.
There is both sweet and savoury stuffed naan that is made with traditional or more fusion-style contents at Naan and Chai. Additionally, there are numerous starters, traditional main dishes, and grilled items on the menu.
This modest, beautiful space with a sizable window providing a behind-the-scenes view of the kitchen was created by completely demolishing the original TOMA Burger and rebuilding it from the ground up.
Here, naan is produced from scratch, albeit it is baked in a Nella Forni pizza oven as opposed to a tandoor, giving it a texture more similar to a pillowy pizza crust than a bubbling flatbread.
Layering different things between two uncooked naan flatbreads, then baking in the oven, is how stuffed naan is made.
Garlic, sesame seeds, and herbs are among the garnishes that some stuffed naan receive.
At Naan and Chai, you should try Masala Chips ($7), a light vegan appetizer seasoned with chaat masala, are the perfect vehicle for mango salsa or the in-house mint and coriander dip.
A popular item with a popular style of grilled chicken that is done properly here, juicy and nicely seasoned, is a Tandoori Chicken Naan ($12). It is basically what it sounds like.
Once more, the packed naan reminds pizza and is ideal for folding and dipping.
The Dum Keema Naan ($12), which is packed with flavorful, well-seasoned, coal-smoked minced beef, might probably be the best.
One of a trio of fusion-style stuffed naans, the Smoked Brisket Naan ($14) is loaded with tender beef brisket that has been 24 hours smoked, caramelized onions, and a ton of creamy mozzarella and havarti. It is also served with a garlic mayo BBQ sauce dip. A smoked turkey naan and a Margherita-pizza-style naan are also available at Naan and Chai restaurant.
A traditional main dish, Black Pepper Chicken Karahi ($16), is created with boneless white meat, green chillies, yogurt, and a lot of black pepper. The curry is rich and deliciously hot, and the meat is fall-apart tender.
They also provide vegan cauliflower butter chicken in addition to traditional butter chicken.
Mascarpone, Honey, and Pistachio Naan ($12) comes with a shot glass of extra honey dip and is topped with honey and pistachios. It is filled with tangy mascarpone, which I wish there was more of.
In contrast, the Nutella Naan ($10) is overstuffed with the chocolate spread.
One of the three potent, fragrant specialty chais on offer here can be paired with a meal: Kashmiri ($4), Saffron ($3.50), or Karak ($3.50). Some are served with cardamom, saffron, or crushed pistachios on top.
Art of Tea offers a variety of additional organic teas, including a caffeine-free Sleep Tea and a Halo Flowering Tea ($5) that is infused with blueberry and white peach essence and always offered at Naan and Chai restaurant.

We had an amazing time! The server was attentive and quick. The food was awesome!
Amazing variation of naan – my favourite was philli cheese! Can’t wait to go back and taste more! Karak chai was flavourless tho – was so disappointed 🙁 Mango lassi was enjoyed by us all
Would go back. Not a big fan of the plastic cutlery but it’s understandable as a response to COVID.
They have a wide selection of naans and the taste is good… though they can amp up the spice levels. Portion size is decent and is quite filling. The ambience is chic as its uncommon to find desi restaurants that have attractive interiors. Service is fair albeit they can improve it. The tea was a bit disappointing as it was very watery. Overall the experience was good.
It was good but i find it more expensive. 1 naan for 15$ ??♀️
The food and ambience was amazing. The interior was very nice as well
No social distancing, patio umbrella fell which is a hazard. Service was poor – from payment to the waitress asking us grab the food because it will fall out of her hands. Waited over 30 min when a reservation was made. Only good takeout. Dine in experience is horrible.
Great place! The atmosphere is great. The design of the restaurant is modern and sleek. Great place with amazing food and tea.
The service for the outdoors was not great. We had to keep reminding the servers and we felt that the outdoor seating customers were not paid attention. The food was great!
We went with our friends. It was our first time and we were very impressed and very happy! The food was delicious and we are definitely going to go again!
We had a great meal (stuffed naan and chai) and the waitress was so incredibly nice and accommodating. Great experience overall!
Malai Chicken Naan and Philly Cheesesteak Naan were by far the winners!
Amazing service, amazing food and atmosphere. Was skeptical about chai because it’s hard to get traditional chai right – but you guys did amazing
I have been to naan and chai 3 times recently. I enjoy it everytime
Stuffed naans are something I’ve never heard of or tried before, but they are delicious, original creations. Would definitely recommend!
