the best/freshest salad I have had in years! The food overall was GREAT.
We live virtually next door to Spinnakers. Over the past two years, the food quality has slipped. On our latest visit, one of the meals was cold, and one was incomplete. The special of the evening was tasty. Soup was cold. As a Brewpub, they have some spectacular brews, except that they run out of them. The wine is just wine, but, they had run out of the house pinot grigio which seems strange given that they own and run a Wine shop only a few blocks away.
The food at Spinnakers has been consistently excellent for the last several years. The flavour, presentation and quality of ingredients all make for delicious food.
Warm atmosphere and eclectic dishes. A few items were not available as advertised which was a bit of a downer, but great setting on the bay and alive at any hour.
Spinnakers is a wonderful pub/restaurant that offers great local food, a fantastic selection of tasty beer and luckily for us, within walking distance from downtown Victoria.
We go to Spinnaker’s fairly regularly and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s high end pub food with a northwest slant (lots of salmon choices, for example). I’m also a fan of the beer there. I’m not sure it’s quite a foodie destination, but the quality is there – we chose this place as our New Year’s Eve dinner spot.
If you want a place with good food and not too far from downtown, this is it. If you make a reservation you can get a window seat with a good ocean view, probably one of the very few places in Victoria with an ocean view at reasonable prices.
Went to Spinnakers with some friends for my birthday party. As usual, Spinnakers had a vast beer selection as well as a large cocktail, wine, and cider selection. The drinks and food was great didn’t hear any negative remarks regarding them from my friends. The only strange thing was the service at first it was pretty slow, but got more consistent later in the night. When it became time to pay our bill our server was totally confused and came to the table with a bill and then had us all recite our orders to her. She had forgotten things and had items mixed up. After what was another long wait trying to pay our bill we just went up to the bar recited our orders again and paid up. Spinnakers is always consistent with the food and drinks so I will be back, just the service was a bit off a few days ago!
We came for lunch and had to wait for over 20 minutes before our waiter even came to our table to take our drink order. Completely unacceptable. I love the location of this place, the views are stunning, and the food is good, but unfortunately the experience was ruined by one terrible waiter.
