Gusto North
The first outpost of local favourite Pizzeria Gusto, Gusto North is an extension of the flavours and feeling of being at an Italian family dinner table. Inspired by its original location on Academy Road, the Gusto team have brought a meticulously designed original menu and space to Hargrave St. Market’s only full service sit down restaurant. Visit, and you’ll feel right at home in the heart of downtown.

Gusto North was the perfect place to come out my pandemic hiding and enjoy an amazing dinner with my wife. I would highly recommend this place.
Fantastic food and service! I would highly recommend the Ragu and Caprese salad. Their wood fired pizza is always delicious and there are a variety of choices! Our waitress was very attentive, friendly and did a super job! This is one of Winnipeg’s best run restaurants! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It was our first experience at Gusto North, the patio is beautiful. It was a cool evening. Service was great, they were out of the sea food entree and didn’t have the wine we ordered. Food was good, the ragu was tasty but not overly hot. We will come back
My husband and I had a lovely date here. The food was phenomenal, I loved the ambience, the extensive list of Italian wines, the music, and the numerous vegetarian options. Drinks took a wee bit long each time, but not extremely so, and we weren’t trying to be in and out quickly.
28$ for a green salad with chicken? It’s not the keg. Come on. A bag of spring mix is 4$. Nice location, atmosphere and great place to blow money
Very good arancini balls, and their pizza was very flavourful. The caprese salad was also good, but very small.
Great atmosphere great staff awesome food
I’ve had great experiences at the restaurant on Academy however this location did not meet up to my expectation. First, the restaurant is extremely noisy – the sounds from the kitchen and neighbouring tables made it difficult to have a conversation at our table. We ordered a few appetizers which were good, as well as the burger (for Burger Week). The burger was OK but no more, and the presentation was definitely missing – just a plain burger bun plopped on a large plate without any attempt to dress it up. Given the price, a little more effort would have been reasonable. The service was excellent and we did not have to wait long for our orders.
Food and service was great. The server was very knowledgeable. When first arrived it was fairly quiet but became quite noisy as it filled up.
The 1 star is the combination for the server and the food. We went for our anniversary and our server wasn’t pleasant nor friendly. Customer service was zero, she simply just wanted to take our order and nothing more. Drinks was great. Our pizzas was dry and the pastas was very bland. We should’ve just went to pizzeria gusto, a better atmosphere and service to celebrate our special occasion as we were left with a very bad taste of Gusto North.
Love the location . Portions of appies are smaller however . Was a but disappointed as for 3 people only the chicken wings were enough. Only 3 scallops and the salad was tiny . The pizza always a hit!! The mains were great . Would go back . However covid has affected portions .
Beautiful room, definitely loud. Had the lobster vermicelli it was excellent
Delicious food, gorgeous patio and great service! I’ll definitely be back.
The food was delicious but it took longer than we would have liked
Great patio and the pizza’s are amazing! Nice refuge in downtown Winnipeg.
Fantastic menu and great service. Try the small plates for sharing in addition to the pizza.
Food and ambience was great but overall the restaurant is too noisy to enjoy each other’s company – not energetic (as the option offered on your survey) but annoying. Could not hear people talking at our table. Will not be back with more than 2-3 people.
Everything was great! Food and service were both fantastic.
Awesome food and great service!!!
For what you pay for fine Italian food, the portion size is way too small My son and I were not impressed. Overpriced
Food and service were excellent, at no fault of the restaurant unfortunately there was really loud not great for dining listing in the market which really took away for the experience and ambiance of the restaurant. Our group collectively said we would Visit pizzeria Gusto versus gusto North as the ambiance can be controlled being a standalone restaurant.
Had a great dinner. The noise level in the restaurant was too loud. You could talk to the people across the tsble
Food was of good quality, just not for me. The charcuterie board (well, what essentially was a charcuterie board) was not very good, the pasta was of high quality, but like I said, just not for me. The pizza was good, but so is domino’s.
Enjoyed the food and atmosphere
We enjoyed exceptional food and service for our party of 6! The Ragu and pizzas were awesome! Our server Sydney was friendly and attentive. The restaurant has modern decor and great ambience. The kitchen staff work deligently to prepare delicious and high quality meals from scratch. I highly recommend Gusto North!
Great service and food but very noisy.
Service was not great. Took a long time to get our drinks, they couldn’t figure out the bill for quite long considering it was only four of us. Food was good
We often go to pizzeria gusto and we’re quite surprised as to how different the pizza was. It wasn’t as crisp a dough, more soggy in middle. Short rib pasta was very under seasoned. Very loud in restaurant as well.
We had a party of 6 and all commented at the time and again this morning the top notch meal we had (various entrees). The wine selection was excellent and we managed to find a selection that was enjoyed by those partaking. Our server (Kaelee – sp?) recalled a former favourite pizza of mine no longer on the menu and asked the kitchen to prepare it – this is the type of care and attention that is always appreciated and rare to find. The restaurant was full and the energy was boisterous – the acoustics can be a challenge when trying to communicate with background noise – but an overall very enjoyable experience. We will be back!
Great ambiance. Fun location. Outstanding service and food.
Great atmosphere Outdoor patio is great with the heaters in the fall weather Waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable
Great service great atmosphere and really great food
The food and service, as always, was fantastic, and we really enjoyed the comfortable outdoor patio seating with the heaters. I would only suggest that the table be checked for wobbliness. Otherwise, a perfect experience!
Fabulous food, great attentive service. But a bit too loud. Difficult to have a conversation. Might not be great for a first date.
Our server was attentive and helped guide us to the right wine based on both our preferences.
we had the cavolo salad to start, followed by the Ragu pasta. Both were outstanding!
Awesome food, energetic atmosphere before the game!
