Le Papillon opened in 1974 as Toronto’s first crêperie. They are now providing the casual French dining experience to a third generation of Torontonians and visitors. After several moves within the historic St. Lawrence Market neighbourhood, Le Papillon has now re-opened in an Old Town Toronto building that perfectly complements their French brasserie atmosphere.
Our menu continues to deliver old favourites such as French onion soup and Crêpes Bretonnes, while providing a newly expanded selection of steaks, as well as duck, seafood and pasta dishes. Also not to be missed is a list of homemade classic French desserts. They continually strive to provide a relaxed approach to fine dining with an emphasis on excellent value.
Le Papillon on Front does offer delivery in partnership with Skip The Dishes. Le Papillon on Front also offers takeout which you can order by calling the restaurant at (416) 367-0303.

I used to go to Papillon when it was on Front Street (I think). I love crepes and the ones I remember were terrific. The restaurant is lovely – nicely respecting the historic nature of their building. Service was adequate. The food was not at all hot when it arrived, and because we were with a friend from out of the country, I didn’t want to make a fuss, as I feared she would be embarrassed. The crepe itself was rather thick and kind of dry(I think I remember it being more delicate in the past). But to be fair, I asked not to have any bechamel sauce, so perhaps I’m partly at fault for it being somewhat cardboardy. I’m not sure I’d rush to go back, but if someone really wanted to go there, I might reconsider.
We were underwhelmed. Food was nice but Not delivered hot. Ongoing issue at this restaurant.
The food is excellent. Best onion soup in the world! Great French fries. Dessert crepe to die for.
Other than the fact that they DID NOT have our reservation which we made through Open Table, everything was wonderful, the food, the service, and the ambiance. Next time I will call Le Papillion direct.
The décor in this restaurant is very nice with a lot of exposed brick. The service was very pleasant and the food was excellent. The menu has plenty of choice for many types of diners.
We actually found a Groupon deal and thought we would give it a try. The food selection was from the main menu (not just a coupon selection) and we started with wine (included) and apps. Delicious. The main courses were perfect and arrived at our tables quickly. Although there were a lot of customers, our waiter William never failed to check on all of his clients as he passed with drinks and food for other tables. We will definitely be going back again and again, and paying full price without a care. Well worth it for the great food and amazing service, in a lovely location.
While visiting Toronto, I had lunch at La Papillon on Front. I was so pleased with my dining experience. The atmosphere, service and food were excellent. I enjoyed the flavorful onion soup, Croque-Monsieur with frites which paired deliciously with a lovely Boudreaux. Looking forward to my next visit to Toronto and La Papillon.
Waiter was exemplary. Food was delicious and seasonal.
I always enjoy Le Papillon. The ambience is good, the food and wine choices are excellent and Aleks is an outstanding waiter!

it evokes feelings of being in a paris bistro…. cozy and comfortable… dont feel rushed… and the server Shauna was fantastic!
This is the 2nd time that we have a reservation from OpenTable but the restaurant doesn’t have a record of it. We were still able to be seated but it doesn’t set the right tone to the start of the evening.
