Blues on Whyte is housed on the ground floor of The Commercial Hotel which has stood on Whyte Avenue for over a century.

Don’t miss this attraction! This is not a restaurant review–if they had food, I didn’t notice. It is a classic blues bar you should not miss if you are spending a day in Edmonton. The free Saturday afternoon blues jam starts around 3pm and the…dance floor fills up quickly. There is AMAZING talent here–the ‘house band’ is amazing, with New Orleans and Austin influences–those southern rock blues You can drink and dance for hours and still have time for dinner and a full night’s sleep. Where else can you do that?? I’d come to Edmonton just to go back to Blues on Whyte!More
I have been to Blues on Whyte many times and am still amazed at the quality of acts they get 7 days a week. The musicians love their craft, put their soul into it even if the crowd is sparse and the sound is great….There are VLT’s and pool tables to fill time between sets and there are usually drink specials. The recent make over was nice but still leaves you with the bluesy feel you want in a bar like this.
If you enjoy live music a little dancing this is a place to go in Edmonton. Open every night, bands starts around 8 pm. Friendly servers, nice ambience.
