It was also interesting how when we called to make the reservation, they pretended that they were very busy. But when we came that was not the case. Food also took a long time to arrive. Craving some meat and remember Booker has good ribs and brisket. Came here with my family of 4 and we shared two large entrees. One full rack of rib and one select two meat. Each dish came with two sides. We got Caesar salad, mac n cheese, chili, and yam fries. We added the calamari as an appetizer. The calamari has a light batter and the squid was perfect. I believe they pan fry with onion and pepper as well, and that made the dish even better. The dip for the calamari was amazing. For the meat we got brisket, pull pork, and rib. The rib was the best out of all the meat, it was not dry and pack a lot of smoke flavour. Brisket was good but would recommend getting half fatty and lean… fatty was too fatty but lean was a bit to dry. Pull pork was good but just overshadowed by the rib. Service was amazing, and they were quick!
This place is awful. We requested no onion with our mac and cheese. Confirmed on the phone AND at pick up only to get home and realize theres onions in it. I am pregnant and have an awful aversion to it. They makes me instantly sick and I can smell it on my partner for days. It’s a velveeta cheese style sauce that has chopped onions and jalapenos. I was told this AFTER when I called to complain. If something has onion in it – be honest BEFORE. $42 dinner after the caesar salad which has lots of brown lettuce, only 1 dressing for a large?! Will not be referring anyone here and never eating here again.
