We really enjoy going to this bistro but this is the first time we’ve run into a service problem. It took 40 minutes between our appetizer and the main course and it was only about 60% capacity at the time. I know that almost everybody has a smart phone but not everyone does, especially seniors. It would’ve been nice to have been given a menu rather than trying to use one cell phone between the four of us to look at the menu.
Service was very slow but that could be due to inexperienced servers. And drinks should not be served with the palm of your hand over top of the drink with all fingers touching the rim. Would not touch our water once we saw that. Other than that food was good and the place was hopping.

This is my 3rd time at the Hawthorne in 6 weeks. I’ve been lucky enough to have “Courtney” as our server! She is superb! Would highly recommend!
Had the bruschetta, calamari and both kinds of mussels. Everything was amazing. Great happy hour prices too.
We ate at a street table. No problem with noise. A few showoffs but tolerable. Mussels were a bit small, but lots of them. Pasta was tasty as always. Very dependable food and service.
