Very good reputation for lovers of hot pot but is quite expensive and nothing special. The really interesting item is fish ball mixed with egg white ( I think? ) and this is very difficult to make…. How about the other items: rather limited menu…and no big deal! They opened a branch in HK and closed soon afterwards…..
Hong Kong style hot pot. Very fresh beef, ox tongue and scallop. They were so good we had this three times when we were in Vancouver. This is my go-to hot pot place. A bit expensive, but I think worth every penny. My wife said…she saw them served a very nice stir-fried lobster dish as well – will try that next time.
We got the live geoduck (at a reasonable price). I can see some unusual seafood in the tank as well, but our party is small so we have to refrain ourselves. Anyway, we ordered too much food. There are quite some soup base to choose…from and it will be a nice surprise for those who care.
A popular Hong Kong style hot pot place, Landmark serves live lobsters, crabs, geoduck and BC spot prawns, among others for dipping into Hot Pot broth. It also offers a variety of sliced meat dishes, freshly minced meat balls and vegetables for a hearty meal….For customers that don’t fancy Hot Pot, this restaurant is also famous for late night Chiu Chow style snacks. Basically, it serves small dishes of tasty stir fry dishes, congee, that would satisfy any one who is craving for yummy food past dinner time. The restaurant is often full. I always make reservation to avoid waiting in line.
I have been coming to Landmark for decades and have always come back. I will admit that the interior can use a modern touch but quality of seafood, meat, and soup base remained excellent. Since I was hosting for some overseas friends, we went all…out with King crab in four ways (steamed with garlic, hot pot, spicy salt and pepper, and fried rice with shell), geoduck clam, and Hong Kong style sliced beef. We had the Macau style pork bone soup base. Everything was fresh and it was a good dinner. Definitely a must! A reservation is highly recommended.
A good selection of fresh seafood on the menu. The beef was fatty, tender, and cut just right for thickness. Everything tasted fresh and clean. Server was very helpful and discouraged my attempt to over order as apparently 3 lbs of geoduck (smallest they had)…would be too much for two diners. Portions are fair. The complimentary sauce dishes include only one soy, one peanut sauce, and one satay.
They been in the Business since later 80 “s ,and I believe it is first hot pot restaurant open in Vancouver ,and in same location !! and still is the local number one choice for good quality and freshness hot pot ,special you have out…of town guest , and this is NOT ALL YOU CAN EAT HOT POT restaurant ,so ,not cheap place to come ,,but it is fair price ,,it is very clean up scale restaurant ,the ambiance ,atmosphere is very relax and the tablet setting is excellent ,lot of rooms mover around ,and the tablets not too close to each others ,you get the comforting feeling , courteous staff ,girl friend #4 in town for 10 days for my later birthday ,and we have five people together for dinner ,( for hot pot ,best have less four to six persons , that way ,you can choose more items to try ) , girlfriend #4 from Africa ,they do not have any hot pot restaurant over there ,and she love seafood and hot sauce , so ,I order the grooeyducks ,scallops ,and they have the King Crab in season ,(8 Ib and three courses ! )) and cook in hot pepper and salt style , beef ,chicken ,beef tendon ,fish fillet ,different vegies ,fish balls ,etc !!!!!!! every one is supper happy ,they all got their own favour foods ! special my girlfriend #4 she so happy she want to marry me right there ! the quality of the foods and the ingredients is excellent ,very high end , meat is very fresh ,not frozen , there is so many Hot Pot restaurants around in midland ,I honestly say this is the best of the best , ,remember ,you pay what you get ,the total bill closed to $700 for five people , also they do have a different later snack menu from 10 pm to 2 am ,,it is lot cheaper , also they do have parking at the back ,reservation must ! very satisfied and full .
Been here 3 or 4 times, and the dinner is always delicious! You must make a reservation or you won’t get inside to eat. The flavour, freshness, and service is always great. Had the Japanese Wagyu, Kobe American beef, ribeye, prawn wonton, the meat ball…combo, cold and normal tofu, and the Chinese greens! The plum drink is also great. The other 2 guys I was with which I have only been here with every time love this place too. Will definitely be back.
This place was incredibly busy. Packed with Chinese people which is always a good sign. I think we were the only white people in there although we were there with my Chinese daughter in law and her parents so maybe we don’t really count. They…did all the ordering. Memorable dishes included the pork and chive buns, sea cucumber belly and the fried tofu. It was all pretty good and it is always fun to cook your own meal. Although this place is definitely not fine dining it wasn’t cheap either.
