New York Fries – Pacific Centre

I’ve been to this New York Fries location a number of times over the years. Located in the Pacific Centre food court, it has proven to be a quick and reliable lunch option. The Pacific Centre food court can and does become something of a…madhouse – especially during the lunch hour rush. If you get to the food court late in the lunch hour, there can often be very long lines at virtually ALL of the food options available; thus, expediency is key. That’s why I say this NYF has proven to be quite reliable. Even when everything is all “hustle and bustle,” I get my food in short order here. For me, it’s not difficult to see why New York Fries is so popular. The fries and, to a lesser extent, hotdogs are of good quality, especially for a fast food chain. If you upgrade your delectable fries to a poutine you’ll be treated to a whole new, and totally Canadian, experience. NYF + real cheese curds = a delicious refection. FOOD: 4/5 SERVICE: 4/5 VALUE: 5/5 RECOMMENDATION: New York Fries is exactly what the name implies – fries, albeit at a slightly elevated level. Prepare for deliciousness. Love their poutine fries — wide selections of toppings ranging from veg to bacon and cheese. Reasonable prices, various sizes of fries. Fast service. Great location (food court of CF Pacific Centre).

The staff member who served us at this mall-based fries outlet was less than friendly as we tried to place our order. Seemed a bit impatient with us when we asked the difference between two menu items. It’s a takeaway place in a mall, so…you can’t expect much I guess. But a smile or a friendly greeting never hurt.

Poutines are freshly made, But Staff don’t wear gloves, which is a concern. It really isn’t bad when you are in a hurry
