The Keg Steakhouse + Bar – St. James

Server was friendly not overbearing. Food was amazing.

Food was great. Dealt with special diet needs no problem. Service was top notch.

Super busy! We made a reservation but still had to wait for a table. When they brought us to our table, someone else was seated there so they asked us to return to the waiting area. Once seated, we waited some more for a server to take our drink order. Food was slow to come out. Baked shrimp was delicious as always and overall we all enjoyed our food. We have enjoyed better service and quality of food at The Keg on Garry Street. We appreciated the Covid protocols that they had in place.

Excessive seasoning turned an otherwise fine striploin into a salt lick, overpowering the natural flavours of the beef. Others may prefer this amount of flavouring, but for myself I will never go back, instead opting for Rae and Jerrys if I am in Winnipeg. On the plus side, service was fine, the bread was great.

This was a nice dinner for a quiet visit. The options were wonderful and tasty.

Food was great, service was kind of slow but not terrible. Friendly server, but it was hard to understand her with her mask. Had no idea what she was saying when talking about specials.

Corey S was absolutely the best server we’ve had! Such a gentleman.

Prime rib was amazing but the asparagus wasn’t cooked and just warm Waiter was amazing ?

We’ve been coming to the st James Location ever since it opened. Always first class service!

Every dish served was the appropriate temperature from chilled to very warm, spiced perfectly. The steaks were cooked to the requested redness for each differing taste. The server was friendly, attentive and timely with all stages of the meal even though the restaurant was obviously very busy. Consistent great service will all prior visits to this Keg.

The last two times I have visited the Keg which has been in three times in the last two weeks the bartending service is lacking first time I ordered cosmopolitan undrinkable second time a straight vodka martini horrible again

As usual a quality dinning experience was had by all in our party. Noise level was a little high.

If you love escargot this is the place to go. One comment though – a dinner roll to sop up the garlic butter does not cut it – go back to something a bit hardier.

The peppercorn New York was delicious and in my opinion best bang for your buck.

I knew on a Saturday night it would be busy so I made a reservation. A little early for us but when you wait until the last day to make your reservation you can’t be choosy. We were sat on time and had an excellent server named Spiro. 47th anniversary and it was a pleasant surprise to have the free dessert. Prime rib was great and we had a great time.

Our server was great, food was awesome, it was very busy and loud and the food took a bit longer than normal but we werent in a rush. Overall it was great, cant go wrong at the Keg.

For us, personally, it is not the type of restaurant we would go to very often. We had to use our phones to see parts of the menu. Wish I could remember the servers name, she was very helpful and friendly.

Very much enjoyed our birthday celebration! The steak was prepared perfectly as ordered.

We personally waited a very long time for our food. When we got the main course the shrimp for one of the meals was nearly burnt and black. Our waiter was fantastic tho! He made the experience fantastic. Probably the best time I’ve had at the Keg ever! Food was so so but the service was amazing! Over all a good experience!

My reservation was on time and my request for a certain table was met. Staff were very friendly and helpfull. All and all it was great.

First time out to a restaurant in a really long time and came for my moms 65th birthday! Food and drinks were Amazing. We had a great time!

Went in for appetizers and drinks after a show, was an awesome time!

The food and service was very good. However, 2 of our 4 ordered one of the specials and both were very disappointed in what was offered. While it tasted good, it was not what was expected based on the description. We would definitely go again but stick to the menu items we are familiar with.

Celebrated the wife’s birthday day. It was a busy evening in the Keg (St. James). Service was great and efficient. Food was excellent! Wife did find small foil in her Rid-eye steak – manager explained it was due to wrapping the bone when on the grill – which was understandable – they did remove her steak from the final bill. Overall, excellent food with great service!

Very good sat in the bar little loud but everything was phenomenal

Ian was great, the steak was done perfectly and the bread is also amazing. Also, the pie is to die for.

Very pleased with the front door staff doing the COVID check!! Place somewhat noisy. Meals good. Calamari not anything special. Prime rib was less than expected. Best part of meal was the vegetable medley. It was delicious. Could have made the whole meal on the vegetable medley if larger portion. Perhaps consider putting this on the menu as a vegetarian plate. The cheese cake was very good. Service was very good. She met our needs. Overall menu items are a bit pricy.

We were seated within a couple minutes of arriving. Our server was friendly and accommodating with one guests dietary needs. Food service was perfectly paced and delicious. My med-rare steak was cooked to perfection. The Keg is always consistent and reliable. Thanks for a great evening!

appatizers were not worth the price, but meals were great. And greatly appreciated the switch to creme bruelle, gluten free, for birthday dessert for my daughter that is celiac.
