Noticed that I could not find Troll’s listed on the Open Table Vancouver site although Open table is the platform offered for booking on the restaurant site. And I did not receive any points.
The food was great and I think the price fits. The location was really nice especially with families. Only complaint was that one of order was missing an item and even after asking for it I still didn’t receive it. I also wanted more coffee but the waiter didn’t come till the end of our meals. But it was a very busy day so I can imagine it was a lotof work. Still I would come back, the food is very hardy and tasty.
Lovely and delicious food! First time visiting in 21 years and everything was great!
We come to Troll’s every year from Alberta on our way to Vancouver Island. The fish tacos are outstanding!!! I will continue to recommend to everyone I know passing through. ❤️
Although we were not pressured to leave and had a nice social time with friends, I felt the food was poor, meagre, and expensive. We were at Horseshoe Bay and there is a bit of a captured clientele there putting in time waiting for ferries, but still…
Nice location, lovely view. One grumpy server, the rest lovely
Disappointed in the quality of meal, for the price. My shrimp/crab omelette was cold in the middle and was taken back. Granted, they made me a new omelette, but my guest had finished their meal before I got mine.
It was okay according to me as the waitress was new to restaurant, and thus the service was sort of slow. Including would be a group of nine people for the table. Overall it is a good place for gathering at Horseshoe Bay.
A lot of family memories over 50 years here. We really appreciated the ice cream cones for the grand children and the friendly and quick service for our group of 7 people. A landmark place and nice staff. The fish and chips were tasty, not greasy, although the fish did turn soggy on the 3rd bite. Not as good as the old days. The room is beginning to look it could use another refresh to the one done about 15 years ago. Great staff, service and location. How to keep the fish going soggy and you’d be 5 stars again!
A great view from our table, extensive menu and excellent service. Our group of three all ordered the shrimp sandwich and agreed it was a great choice. One of the group ordered the chocolate cake for dessert and I had a taste (not usually a lover of chocolate desserts) and was so surprised how much I enjoyed it. Rich without being too sweet. We will return again soon.
Tasty fish and chips with a lovely view and great portions for the price. The service was friendly and attentive.
Super busy when we were there. I started to notice that people who came after us were eating when we had no food. Watched the waiter see me looking around and he rushed into the back. Shortly after they came to tell us our food would be right out. I’m guessing they just took someone else’s order as the salad/fries were all wrong. They did correct it but pretty poor. Also could not get a second glass of water until we asked for the third time.
Noise level – had a baby next to us. Not really a problem – cute baby, just the odd outburst.
